Method
Designed · v0 under review · publishing Q4 2026The verification method, in the open.
A verifier that will not show its method is a report with a logo. When the Pleione method publishes here it will be versioned, dated, and open for comment. Until then, this page says what it will contain and what it will not claim.
What the method covers
- Boundaries: what counts as withdrawal, consumption, return and reuse, per line, per source, per window.
- Indirect water: electricity-related water shown separately, with the grid factor and its source.
- Sensor trust: calibration intervals, drift detection, and the rule that an untrusted sensor yields HOLD, never PASS.
- The record: fields, hashing, signing, retention, and how a third party replays it.
- The envelope: how a stress-scaled operating envelope is built from public and agreed sources, and how excursions are reported.
- Accounting alignment: conformance with volumetric water benefit accounting (VWBA 2.0) where a replenishment claim is made; no "water positive" without it.
What it will not claim
Any treatment performance, savings, or water-use-effectiveness figure for a Pleione system that has not been measured with laboratory verification on a Pleione site.
Version and history
Every published version is dated and kept. Changes are listed, not silently replaced, so a reader can see what moved and when.
Review
We are inviting review from standards bodies, utilities, municipalities, First Nations water operators and academic water groups before publication. If you want to read the draft under a simple review agreement, ask us for it.
